What our Clients say about us

“I am so pleased there are programs like Faith in Action. It has been a God send for our family. D.L. helped my brother when he was dying from cancer, reach all his doctor appointments. She also made him feel very special with her kindness and concern over his health. Now she is helping my 85 year-old mother who is hearing and sight impaired, by taking her to doctor and test appointments. She has become a part of our family. The first time I met her, she was helping my Mom. She truly cares about her clients.”
P.C.

“I think the Faith in Action program is really great. It has helped me with Dr. appointments, transportation, and a lot of care helping with filling out papers. D.L. goes above an beyond to help this program to help so many older people who can no longer drive and have no family to help. Many times there were real emergencies. She found the time and someone else to help if she is booked. There should be more like her in this world. God Bless.

“I found out about the services the Ecumenical Council provides through an article in the News Journal. I needed transportation to my doctor appointments after I no longer had a car. This is a much needed service! Although there’s public transportation, one can spend 2-3 hours taking buses, which translates to taking almost all day to go to one appointment.

I’m overjoyed that the council is providing transportation again since I recently needed to see several doctors and go to physical therapy. I previously received rides from C.W., and more recently B.K.S. Both of them are very caring and compassionate individuals.”

“My name is R.B., and I have had opportunities to use the services of Delaware Ecumenical Council on Children and Families. The services were based on my physical and mental needs, safe transporting during running of errands, prescription pick up/drop off, grocery shopping, and assistance with transporting laundry. Most of all, I received an independent, genuine assistant that ensured my safety, security, and need to rest.”
R.B.
